Water Oxygenation technologies for On-shore and Off-shore fish farms
Abstract
Global demand for seafood has doubled over the past 50 years. Today, more than 50% of the world’s seafood comes from on-shore or offshore farms, which raise freshwater or marine species in controlled environments. These facilities face the challenge of maintaining optimal breeding conditions: adequate nutrition, disease prevention and maintaining a healthy environment. The most important factor in ensuring healthy fish is a constant supply of fresh, clean water.
Controlling the concentration of oxygen in the water is therefore of vital importance. Maintaining the right level of oxygen in the water improves nutritionuse, shortens the growth period and reduces fish mortality.Optimized use of oxygen will improve fish farm performance and financial sustainability. With the SOLVOX® product line, Linde offers the right solution to meet these specific needs. SOLVOX includes a variety of oxygen dissolution and tank distribution solutions.
In particular, we will present:
- SOLVOX OXYSTREAM, for continuous oxygenation with low pressure water flows (approximately 0.2 bar), for optimal stripping of inert gases (N2)
- SOLVOX VENTURI, a flexible solution for oxygenation in pipes of any diameter.
- SOLVOX DROPIN, for the oxygenation of sea tanks, in a context where increasingly high water temperatures reduce the available oxygen levels.
