The first exhibition in Italy devoted to algae. It had to be the big news of the 2021 edition of AquaFarm, but the Covid emergency prevented to hold the event in presence. This is one of the reasons why today we look forward with great emotion to the next edition on February 16-17, 2022. It’s AlgaeFarm! The event within the event, the new co-star of the two days of the event together with AquaFarm and NovelFarm.
AlgaeFarm is a special space within AquaFarm devoted to the world of algae and microalgae. The recipe is now tested: in addition to visiting the exhibition spaces, it will be possible to participate in conferences and debates – coordinated by a dedicated scientific committee – on the many themes of algaeculture such as research, development, technologies for cultivation and their application.
The decision to give central stage also to the production and processing of the different types of algae, a topic that we had already had the opportunity to address in previous editions, stems from the attention of Pordenone Fiere for a sector whose diffusion is still limited but whose potential for growth and development is increasingly evident.
Algae: a look to the future
Human and animal nutrition, production of sustainable energy and biofuel, applications in the circular economy and in the chemical-pharmaceutical and cosmetic / nutraceutical industries: the many areas of use of algae and microalgae will be explored, as well as the environmental benefits of their cultivation.
In fact, since it does not require soil – taking place in the sea or in a greenhouse – and high levels of CO2, it guarantees sustainable production and for this reason it has been promoted by the European Union for the development of the Blue Economy.AlgaeFarm will therefore be a stimulating opportunity for meetings and discussions between the various professionals and researchers of the industry but also an opportunity for newbies to learn about a type of soilless cultivation that will play an important role in the future of our planet, not only from the point of view of food.
