The seventh edition of AquaFarm, the only international event in Italy dedicated to aquaculture, shellfish farming and sustainable fishing industry, closed its doors just over a month ago.
Significant figures including over than 100 exhibitors, 25% of whom from abroad, almost 2.000 visitors from all over the word along with 6.000 square metres of exhibition and conference area. Pordenone Exhibition Centre continues to be the world’s reference venue for events dedicated to innovative and sustainable food production in water.
The 2024 edition was characterised by an exclusive focus on the topics of aquaculture and shellfish farming, as innovative vegetable crops and algae (NovelFarm and AlgaeFarm) had a separate time slot in March this year.
During the two-day event, Pordenone Fiere hosted 120 speakers from all over the word participating in more than 20 sessions.
The issues that provoked the most lively debate, also considering their extreme topicality, were those related to blue crab and the policies that were implemented to reduce the phenomenon. High interest was also shown by the audience for the session dedicated to circularity and sustainability in fishfeed production.
Great success also for the idea of flanking the official programme of the event with a series of workshops held by institutions, associations, research centres, universities and companies, among which the presentation of the project of international calibre on the prospects and opportunities of rainbow trout farming in the Mediterranean area organized by the the FAO – Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
Thanks to all our exhibitors, speakers and visitors.
AquaFarm will be back on February 12-13, 2025 – and we are already working to deliver a sucessful edition!
